then there was us. is a UK based non profit platform dedicated to supporting and
sharing stories from documentary makers around the world.
The third issue of their print magazine is titled ‘Family’ and explores the simple definition that offers many possibilities, from our own position within a family or group, age, gender, the questioning of our own identity and sense of kin. The work in this issue is an exploration of the public and private, those involved examine the web of social relationships and address the traditional and non-traditional ideas of family and kinship.
In reflecting over the pandemic, whether we’ve spent time with or away from family,
it’s clear that the topic is much deeper than what seems on the surface.
